All under one Sky – Account of a Journey

Every Feng-Shui Consultant should once experience China, that is a commonplace. And yet, it is true – this country changes you profoundly. I'm reporting here about the Geomancy Journey to China in July 2010 with Feng Shui Grand-Master Dr. Jes Lim and his wife Julie Lim, Master of Calligraphy and Tai Chi Chuan. At the same time, this is about so much more – about a deeply spiritual experience. China is a good place to be a tourist. A bus, perfectly accommodating a westerner's need, takes you (at least in the major cities) over supernew and wide roads from one sightseeing spot to the next. The Chinese tour guides studied German at Chinese Universities and know how to gather the most important facts about each object of interest: which dynasty it originates in, how heavy or high it is, how much money was invested in its construction. It is perfectly easy to travel as such a tourist and to stay on a very superficial level, to take lots of phenomenal photos and to feast voluptuous meals in better restaurants, which were tested and approved by western stomachs. Shopping is another favourite tourist activity in the land, everybody knows at least from the label „made in China“ in their t-shirts. Destruction by the Red ArmyOr...Or you let yourself fall. Fall into this energy, that does not feel strange at all, but rather deeply familiar. An energy that expands the mind, opens the inner eye, so it makes you wander around with amazement. Especially the third eye begins to see. Even in the seemly young and hypermodern cities, which were once destroyed by the Red Army, you can feel it – mighty, intense and overwhelming. It is a force of a culture, many thousands of years old. The force of taoistic masters, who meditated in caves and hermitages. The force of masters of the martial arts, who were able to make themselves light enough to walk across water or simply walk up a rock. The force of great magicians, who gathered the power of the elements to move big rocks or clouds. An archaic world shines throughAt the same time, this high-frequency energy stays objectively distinct, maybe because of the former brutal oppression of religious movements. It is not confused by sounds or the smell of incence sticks, nor with mantras or sacrifice ceremonies. It quite simply and clearly speaks to you and asks you to sit down, quietly and still. Maybe in front of a buddha statue, which reminds you that each creature has the ability to reach this enlightened state of mind. Maybe on a mountain, overlooking hundreds of kilometers of peaks and hills, which makes you realize how oh-so-important your daily working life at home really is. Maybe it even happens in a hotel room after a long day filled with excitement. The knees give way, you quietly sit on the floor, close your eyes and review the inner images of the day, but this time clearly and truthfully. An archaic world shines through the modern one. What really happenedIf you are really lucky after the tour guide has listed the amounts, sizes and weights, the master joins in and explains what he sees: What really happened at this place. What one had to do with it. Which wisdom and spirits are still present in this moment, that you otherwise would have overlooked, even with a gigabyte photos. Most of the time, the master is silent and observes the journey. Reflective and peacefully at rest, he seems very gracious. And Julie? As you might know her, she stays much in the background and opens herself only to those, who are able to recognize her true value. She gives subtle but powerful hints and enriches the trips with her joy and ease. We visited six extreme high-frequency places, which completely turned us upside down. Some ended up in a fever, some had to a great need of sleep, but most of us were silent and had a smile in their eyes, that wouldn't want to disappear. It might just never disappear, because the connection stays.
